Code of Conduct
Disruptive behavior at an HOA meeting refers to any actions by a homeowner that significantly disrupt the normal flow of the meeting, such as interrupting speakers repeatedly, making personal attacks, yelling, refusing to follow meeting rules, or engaging in behavior that creates a hostile environment for other attendees.
Examples of disruptive behavior at an HOA meeting:

Constant interruptions: Talking over other members, not waiting to be recognized to speak

Personal attacks: Making derogatory comments about other homeowners or board members

Loud or aggressive behavior: Yelling, using offensive language, or making threats

Topic hijacking: Bringing up unrelated issues repeatedly, diverting the conversation away from the agenda

Refusal to follow rules: Ignoring the meeting facilitator's requests to adhere to established procedures
Below is the Code of Conduct the Board will be following in the future at our open meetings:
Purpose:

To ensure a respectful, productive, and transparent environment during HOA meetings

To establish guidelines for the behavior and responsibilities of board members and community members
Board Members:

Act in the best interest of the community with honesty, integrity, and transparency

Familiarize themselves with the association's governing documents, budget, and building maintenance requirements

Attend meetings regularly and come prepared
-
Avoid conflicts of interest and refrain from self-dealing
-
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Community Members:

Show respect and courtesy to all participants in the meeting

Speak in turn when called upon and follow the meeting’s agenda

Refrain from disruptive behavior or personal attacks

Provide constructive feedback and suggestions

Respect the decisions made by the board, even if in disagreement
Meeting Procedures:

Meetings will start and end on time

An agenda will be provided in advance and followed strictly

Minutes will be taken and shared with the community after approval

Questions and comments will be addressed during designated times
Conflict Resolution:

Address conflicts calmly and respectfully

Seek to understand different perspectives and find common ground
-
Use mediation or arbitration when necessary to resolve disputes
Enforcement:

Consequences for violations may include removal from meetings or meeting adjournment

The Board will keep detailed records disruptive behavior including date, time and specific actions taken by the individual
Amendments:
-
The code of conduct may be amended by a majority vote of the board

Community members will be notified of any changes
